How many sessions do you need?
This is determined by how you and your therapist feel you respond to some initial treatment in your first consultation and the complexity or chronicity of your problem.

Your treatment plan will be determined by a number of factors;

- Age may affect your speed of healing and response to treatment

- Types of tissues that have been injured (fast healing muscle vs slow healing ligament for example)

- Extent of injury (how many different types of tissues are involved)

- Chronicity of the problem (long standing issues can take longer to unwind)

- Accompanying health issues (e.g. metabolic issues such as diabetes can slow healing and influence how we treat the issue)

Some very chronic and longstanding issues require ongoing maintenance for the long-term.

Overall, our goal is to minimise dependency on treatment and get you a great result in the shortest possible time.

Example recommendations:

Sedentary people and desk-based workers:
Evidence informs us that prolonged sitting places significant demand on your spine and discs. Potentially greater risk than being a manual laborer! For this reason, we recommend 4-6 weekly maintenance and screening.

Younger individuals, Moderately active:
At least a couple of check-ups a year for moderately active people and people in jobs that can occasionally be posturally or mechanically demanding.

Active people - amateur athletes and regular exercisers or labourers:
Regular check-ups every 4-8 weeks for very active people and labourers (or anyone who principally works with their body).

Athletes and those 'In-training':
Weekly to fortnightly for people in training for a specific event or competition season.

Post surgery or injury:
People on a specific rehabilitation programme, or people trying to resolve or manage any new, acute or chronic injury, will be recommended intervals based on their specific needs, requirements and speed of healing, as dictated by age and overall health.

Chronic pain conditions, chronic illness:
Your treatment programme will be a collaborative effort, over time establishing the best interval between sessions for your individual needs. We will work with you and your particular constraints to provide a supportive service that fits seamlessly and conveniently into your schedule as you require.
